Help

Hi There,

I've had acid reflux problems for the last few years. It originated in the *mouth* of the stomach, right in the middle. Over the years it got better, but now I started feeling pain in my chest, in the middle that spread all over, and even in my back and the neck up to the back of my head when I press my ribs. It's strange, since it hurts more if I bend over, and sometimes my chest cracks. I'm not sure if it is related to my acid reflux, but it seems like it, the pain oscillates, now it's pretty constant, it does get better after showering. Could this be an GERD problem?

thanks

Hi Edgar,
it sounds like the symptoms i had earlier.
do you feel like your ribs are very tender?
and at the neck , is it right where it meets your had?
do you feel piercing pains in your ribs very sharp?
if hats the case , it could be Gerd..
over production of acid puts pressure on the stomach which pushes i into your lungs out of self preservation realy.. the acid then burns your lungs. alot of fmilis with asthma have gerd problems. the lungs have difficulty breathing which puts pressure on your ribs hence the sore feeling and pain.
i would suggest if this is the case you go on a bowel cleansing diet to help your system cope with the acid . and alot of water. I found that benefiber liquid satchets helped i bringing my system to back to normal .it took three weeks but after this all the above sypmtoms dissappeared.
I hope this was helpful.
all the best. jo.

Hey guys,

Thanks a lot for the advise. I actually follow a very healthy life, no smoke, exercise, I drink coffee though, but much less now. What confuses me is that my chest pain seems to be its own beast, but I can imagine GERD can cause this too. Among other things I've recently experienced is that it hurts when sneezing and sometimes it cracks. The pain oscillates around, and it hurts even in the back of my neck. I know all the nerves are connected, but seems odd. I went to the doctor and we are doing some blood testing, would it show up there? I mean, esophagitis.

best,
Edgar

Each time you check this site you realize how many people out there are dealing with the same thing.  Mine includes esophagitis.  I have only been officially diagnosed and treated with meds for the last 6 months, but realize I ignored symptoms for a long time before that.  Like many others I am still looking for solutions.  No matter which meds are prescribed by the dr. adding diet changes and stress management is important.    Whether it is a sound medical idea or not I sometimes fast for a day when I feel completely irritated by foods.  Keep looking for things that work for you.  I am working on the idea that sometimes I need to slow down when I don't feel well which in turn allows you to bounce back more quickly.

I would get a endoscopy for you esophagus to make sure you do not have esophagitis, ask a doctor. I have been living through my pains for a while but have started to control my via herbal remedies and stress relief i.e. not worring so much.....I also have had these other pains that reaches to other extimities in my body mainly my left arm and neck..

If you smoke stop, if you eat chocolate stop, if you eat pizzas and anything with tomato sauce stop, if you drink caffine stop....if you don't eat a lot of fruits like melons and papaya.....if you do not have control of you weight get control... This is a big order I know but I have made such drastic changes and if I can anyone can trust me...hmm what else chia seeds you can buy from like Sunharvest's or Vitaminshoppe.com...use this to make a gel which consits of 1/3 cup chia seeds and 2 cups water and store in fridge for 12 hours then you can take 1/3 cup 3 times a day like me or when you feel the burning/ chest pains......stress management via yoga or something even though sounds stupid can help....

Hope all turns out for the best for ya....but make sure to get a physicians diag...if they try to put you on PPI drugs i.e. nexium or equivalent try may help you but for me I was on them for like 4 years and it took me to take control for myself in order to help me..you can control this problem but the choice is yours the road you chose and in some cases one road may not work....
