High Liver Enzymes! :(

Im 27 years old. I have never been a big drinker. I am very close to having gastric bypass surgery, and I also have PCOS and one of my MANY side affects from PCOS is PAINFUL acne, boils and cystic as well as nudular acne. I was getting labs done to be put on acutane for my acne and they called to tell me that my liver enyzmes were to high to be put on the medicine.
Im scared to death because one I dont want to have anything more wrong with me, two I dont want it to affect my surgery because if so I dont know what in the world Im going to do to fix all my other medical problems which are weight related.
My younger sister was also diagnosed a couple years back with NASH a liver disease/condition.

Im wondering what could cause liver enzyes to be 104 other than something terribly wrong?

Someone told me it could be weight related, or gallbladder issues, even taking to much tylenyol ( which I take at least 4 time a week for headaches ). What kind of symptoms would I have for the different things that could be causing it and how would the doctor decifer between them all...

Thanks for any info you might have...

Stressed to the max <

I suggest you get an ultrasound first and then get a blood screening for Hepatitis?  I almost think your problems are just being caused by taking too much tylenol, if you stop taking it and then get another blood test your numbers may be normal after a month or so.  Eating healthy and losing weight like Rheinau said, is also very helpful.

A long time ago my numbers were around 50, I talked to the doc, he said, ok, no drinking and no medication for a month and see what happens, within a month my numbers were normal, but he also said do exercise and cut back on the fatty foods.

If you have a high-fat diet it could be causing your levels to rise.  Losing weight may drop the levels. I agree with demtlard - get a Hepatitis panel done.  At least you'll know. good luck.

104 is concerning, but not the worst it could be. You may have a fatty liver due to a high fat diet. Do you have hepatites or have been tested for it? Have you had an abdominal ultrasound yet?  If not, you need to do the ultra sound first and formost.

I suggest cutting down on your tylenyol, learn what is giving you the headaches and find alternative ways of dealing with them.
