The H-pylori caused an ulcer, and I was told I had gallstones. I have been medically examined and given multiple reasons as to why I am experiencing this, some related to the gallstones, some a complete opposite diagnosis. The treatment for H-pylori is harsh and notorious for causing Irritable Bowel Syndrome or Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Some of the symptoms I have match IBS, however, some match gallstones, then some match the diagnosis not associated with the others. I have good days and bad days. One minute I feel fine, the next I am in pain, then it may go away again. An ultrasound showed the gallstones, however, in the middle of these problems I had a CT Scan, which showed it was normal, no gallstones, no kidney stones, no inflammation of the gallbladder, or other problems. My blood work was normal as well.
It is possible you have gallstones or ulcer as your treatment suggests, but please see your doctor as this needs to be sorted out. Pain such as this is not normal. It could also be referred pain but needs to be checked by physical examination and possible ultrasound. Also are your stools normal and do you have any difficulty going to the toilet passing bowel motions? Also check to see if your stools are black and tarry or light and colourless as this info can significant provide clues.
Thanks for replying. I know I was tested twice, the first time it was negative and by blood, then a few months later I got sick and tested positive for it. I plan on seeing an Gastroenterologist within the up coming weeks. I know my stomach is inflamed without an endoscope being performed, I can feel it.
How long have you had the H-Pylori,any idea? H-Pylori is responsible for stomach ulcers, did you have an endoscopy that determined the H-Pylori Bacterial Infection? The Antibiotic treatment is only 80% effective, and the resultant problem is that MD's fail to tell you that whenever you take antibiotics for whatever reason, It kills good stomach bacteria along with the bad, so when taking a course of high dose antbiotics, you should also take a good brand of Probiotics every day and at least 6 days after the treatment is completed. Probiotics replace the good bacteria that the treatment kills off, I would try Probiotics for a week and stay away from spicy foods. If your symptoms do not go away, then you need to see a Gastroenterologist, he is most likely going to do an Endoscopy to take a look and see if your stomach lining is inflamed or if you have an ulcer, If you do have to see a Gastro, stop taking any Acid Pump Prohibitors ie: Prilosec, Omeprazole etc, these medications supress HPylori and any tests will come up negative, even if the bacteria is present. Also you could try Simethicone for bloating and gas pain, it breaks up large pockets of air or gas and allows passage, the OTC brand is GasX Best Wishes FTB4
