IBS

Is it normal with IBS to have yellow on the toilet paper, but not yellow stool?  I have been to a GI doc and had every test for my liver, including a biopsy, all were normal.  I have had one of those occult blood tests for my stool as well, it was negative.  I'm probably worrying for no reason, but I just wanted to see if anyone might possibly know something about it.

THanks!

did you ever find anything out about this? i am having the EXACT same issues!  even down to having no gallbladder.  Called the surgeon's office who preformed the surgery and the nurse said this sounded normal after gallbladder surgery even for me 10 months out.

I have had diarrhea for 13 days now. It is yellow and lots of stringy type things in it, lots of yellow when I wipe. I am eating and drinking normal, but no relief. I did have my gall bladder removed at least 7 years ago.
I have diarrhea for a few days, at least once a month. I don't remember having it this long before. Went to my Doctor and had blood work....normal. I need to know what to do next. Any ideas?

i am a ibs patient, and I think is that when it is yellow, it might because it's bile. I get like that sometimes too, but I don't have my gallbladder anymore so i don't have a gallbladder that stores the bile, so everything goes straigh down. So I suggest that it's bile.

Thanks for the input.  It comes and goes for me.  My IBS can be really irritating at times.  Sometimes I worry about it being something worse than it really is, but I guess thats just natural.

I have had IBS with constipation for 3 years. I have had yellow mucus when I wipe even though my stool is not yellow. When I asked my docter, she just told me that was part of my IBS. That was my case, hope it gets better for you.
