Welcome to the gastroenterology community! It is most likely not your pancreas or an irregular heart rate. I would recommend seeing a doctor about this and probably getting an upper endoscopy to check out your esophagus and stomach and see what is going on.
I've had that too! This was what led them to finding my pancreastist! Chest pains, food feeling like it was getting stuck and not moving down. Complained of pain following after, but all the did in the emergency room was aliminate heart issues.
Then one day I was back for same issue and a doctors said that check pain and food feeling stuck in esophagus was a syptem of panceastist so she did the test and and sure enough my pancreas was elevated!
Meeko, check out your pancreas it may be causing this or a irregular heart rate can cause your esophagus to move food slow because the body is working hard to work everything being too slow. That's another possibility. I've even heard of people choking off their foods from a low heart rate. Slougish heart beats!
