Lower abdomen issue

I have been having this issue for the last 3 weeks now. When I'm laying down there is an area on the lower right side of my abdomen that protrudes out. It's hard when pressing down and the only way to describe it's shape is it's like a sausage. If I press on this spot I get the sensation that I have to have a bowel movement and I feel gas moving around. I'm wondering if this could be related to my ovaries, except the fact that I went in for a pelvic exam only 4 months ago and everything checked out fine. Could this be a hernia? It doesn't hurt. When I wake up in the morning its much larger, like one big bubble poking out on one side.  When I go to the bathroom it gets much smaller. The only time I notice this is when I'm laying down. It's just the weirdest thing.I've been feeling like I need to have a bowel movement often and then If I do I don't feel that relief.  I've never had anything like this. The only other thing that I can add is that I have felt a popping sensation while sneezing or lifting something and that I did a crazy ab workout like 3 or more weeks ago.

I have very similar thing.  It scares me because I've developed gastritis recently and I wonder if it's related.  Do you still have it?
When I'm lying down my lower belly pulls in and the area on the lower right sticks out more than on the left.  Sometimes it's tender when I push on it, sometimes not.  Sometimes it gets much smaller but then reappears later.
It makes me nervous but I am even more nervous to go to the doctor.

I vote for hernia, even tho it's not painful.  You should see your regular doc and ask him to refer you to a surgeon who can put everything back together for you.  The reason I concluded hernia is because you said you felt a pop when sneezing, lifting, and ab workout.  That's precisely what causes a hernia, any of the three, the abdominal muscles rip away and the insides will bulge out in that spot.
