Maximum number of hemmoroids

I have a question about the maximum number of hemmoroids a person can have. I know there are basically 3 columns, but how many could there be? 10....12....15? Also, TMI here - I've had hems before, but am in pain again after sitting on a plane 12 hours! If I spread my anus, and strain a bit, I see quite a few purple/bluish pads - would these be externaL OR INTERNAL? Thanks in advance for any help!!
