You should be looking at the docs like they're nuts, not you. Docs should know (and they don't but don't seem to pass it on to patients) that changes can occur far after the surgery is done. The ultrasound may not have been sensitive enough to pick up changes in the bile duct. It's possible to have sludge or in some cases spasms of the bile duct or sphincter of Oddi that can cause gallbladder-like pain immediately or long after surgery.
You're not nuts. Follow-up on this. You're probably going to have to push to get anything done about it, so make sure you're armed with information. There's a decent link. I'll go find it and post it for you.
