Nausea every single night please help!!!

I was diagnosed with GERD because I have heartburn and I often regurgitate. However, for the past month I have felt like something is stuck in my throat and I am getting nausea every single night. It is so incredibly frustrating. I'm good for most of the day, and then 6-7pm hits and I get nausea. I have to lay down. The only thing that helps is going to sleep.

I am on Nexium and it has done nothing. I still feel the same. Doc just told me to try Prilosec OTC so I started that today. The past few days I've been starting to get nausea in patches throughout the day. For example, today i've had it steady all day, with it getting worse at certain times.

Please help!

Even though medicines like nexium, prilosec, prevacid, protonix, aciphex, and dexilant are all very similar, sometimes you need to try many of them before you find one that works well for you.  The nausea could be caused by the GERD.  Are you on a GERD-friendly diet?  Have you tried raising the head of your bed?

Hi. Thanks for the response. I am taking Prilosec 20mg 2x a day as my doctor thought it was GERD. The Acid Reflux has nearly completely gone away but the nausea is still there after I eat and at night.

So frustrated.

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  These symptoms can go along with GERD.  I would recommend continue to work with your doctor to try and find a medicine that works for you.  Are you on a GERD-friendly diet?
