I have an orange size lump in my lower right quadrant (above pelvis). It only pops out when I'm lying on my back. I am having a CT Scan today for that. The said he will look to see if it's a hernia even though he doesn't feel one.
I am also having a pendoscopy (sp?) which is a colonoscopy and an endoscopy all in one on June 14th to look for things like ulcers, masses, irritation, etc. In the meantime the dr gave me a script for some meds to help "clean out" my bowels and to make me more regular and an antacid. Right now I am doubled over in pain until I can either pass gas or have a BM and I also have pain as I go to the bathroom (even urinating). The pain starts where that lump is located.
My OB checked me over and started me on a couple antibiotics incase I have an infection from the IUD which I got last Dec. He doesn't think that has anything to do with it but since the doctors tried blaming the IUD for the reason why I had to use a walker and wheelchair 6 months ago he wants to make sure that there is no question. He is sending me to a GI doctor to have an Upper GI done. From there we will possibly do a colonoscopy and a laparoscopy. I see the GI doctor on Wednesday.
hdebbie7 - First off, thanks for you post! The cyst does go away and come back. I've had repeat u/s to make sure of that. The u/s tech told me it was only 3 cm which is very tiny. I am going to my OB today at 2 pm I will let you know.
All these symptoms you are experiencing can be due to your cyst, people are always very surprised that they can cause so many symptoms. I dont understand why your cyst has been left all this time. Have you had suggested to you any meds for this to help shrink it , do you know what type it is and has it grown in the last few years, these are all questions you should be asking. if it is causing you this much discomfort perhaps you should talk about having it removed, but i know they do not like to do this unless it has reached 5cm. Please look into this and let me know how you do , take care.
It is a very small cyst. It's borderline even being called a cyst because it's so small. I do have endometriosis as well which I was diagnosed with 3 1/2 years ago so I am familiar with those pains (always in lower left ovary) so the green, loose stools, distended abdomen, unable to eat, etc is all new.
As I was reading, I was thinking a cyst on your ovary and then sure enough, thats what you posted. Has their been any discussion with your OBGYN about removing the cyst? Ovarian cysts can cause alot of pain and discomfort. Your symptoms sound consistant with that being the issue.
