Diarrhea

  I have been having diarrhea for about 3 months now and it seems to be getting worse.  I believe it started after I was given Lipitor for high cholesterol.  I usually have very watery bowel movements about twice a day and today it has been worse, not making it to the bathroom.  I appreciate your help and advice very much.

Thanks so much for your reply.  I did talk with the doctor and he told me Lipitor could cause the problem.  He told me to cut it down to 1/2 pill and so far, so good.  Thanks again.  Abby

Abby, call your doc and make an appointment to follow-up on the problem. Lipitor can cause diarrhea in individuals. Your doctor should be able to give you a hand in figuring out if this is a side-effect of the medication and whether you need to switch to another medication that hopefully will not cause diarrhea.
