Pain/throbbing sensation of heartbeat in lower abdomen on waking

For over a year now when I waken up I have movement- throbbing, like a heartbeat in my lower abdomen followed by pain - doesn't matter which way I lie.The pain gradually worsens and spreads up towards my belly button.  As soon as I get out of bed the pain goes. It doesn't matter if I've emptied my bowel before going to bed or get up to empty my bladder, the pain is still there. No painkillers work. I had bladder and kidney scans done, an abdominal X ray, colonoscopy which showed mild inflammation in Ilium, I had a cystoscopy which showed a narrowed tube (which they stretched as they said my bladder didn't quite empty properly) This seemed to help for about 6 weeks but the pain then returned. I went back to see both the colo-rectal surgeon and the urologist. Colo-rectal surgeon put me on Asacol to see if that would help which it didn't. The Urologist then gave me Detrusitol XL 4mg capsules which I haven't taken as I don't suffer from an overactive bladder (I don't have to rush to the toilet or go frequently) and I also have an irregular heartbeat (for which I take Tambocor 100mg twice daily) which the leaflet on Detrusitol  says could make worse! I feel I am being shunted from pillar to post and given all sorts of medications which don't work. All the time I get very little sleep because as soon as I waken the pain is there and I have to get out of bed. As previously stated the pain goes as soon as I get up. Anybody got any ideas? One of the docs suggested I might be suffering from adhesions but surely they would give me constant pain, not just in the morning? Any suggestions gratefully received as I'm desperate.

Look at these pictures, and you'll see where abdominal aortic aneurism (AAA) usually is, and where are the kidneys and bladder.
http://images.google.com/images?gbv=2&hl=en&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=abdominal+aortic+aneurysm&spell=1

If not specifically searched for, AAA  was not likely "covered".

Thank you - would the bladder and kidney ultrasound scan I had done have shown up any aneurism do you think? Thank you so much for your help on this

X-ray would show only aneurism with a calcified wall.

Ultrasound is the first investigation for abdominal aortic aneurism. Next, if necessary is CT.

Thanks for your reply. I'm female 62 years old - heart diagnosis is Atrial Fibrillation. I had thought of aneurism of abdominal aorta, but thought the X Ray of my abdomen would have shown that? This problem was a sudden thing which began in May 2007 and has continued ever since - over a year of this now which is really getting to me.

Male or female, how old are you? A short medical hystory maybe? Any other heart diagnosis except arrhythmia?

My first thought was aneurism of abdominal aorta.
