Painful digestive issues

I'm at a loss at what to do. For over a year i've been having some sharp pain around by belly button, along with gas and foul smelly, burning, and floating bowl movements. I've seen a gastroenterologist and had colonoscopy, endoscopy, small bowl series, an abdominal ultra sound, fecal tests, and alot of blood work. Any sort of infection has been ruled out as has celiac, crohn's, and ulcerative colitis.  My doctor told me its just IBS and there is nothing she can do.  However about ten years ago i was diagnosed with IBS and I know what foods to avoid, I'm lactose intolerant as well and i've  going completely off milk and my symptoms don't change. I'm only 20 but i've always had some digestive issues so i know how to eat healthy but nothing i do works. I take hyoscyamine and it helps a little but i'm still having problems. My doctor has given up or just doesn't care so i'm someone has some suggestions that could help because i'm really at the end of my rope.

I have been having the same problem. I have had blood tests, stool tests and now I am freaking out. Not a way to live having to stay close by a bathroom. I have no insurance so can't go for all these tests. I have no idea what this either, just wanted you to know you are not alone in this. I feel your pain.

Katrc, your symptoms of floating stool and the presence/location of your discomfort sounds a lot like either pancreatic issues or celiac disease. Have your liver and pancreatic enzyme levels been tested? In addition, I know you say celiac disease has been ruled out, but many times the results of blood tests give a false negative result, so how were you tested for celiac or gluten issues? Have you tried an elimination diet for at least 2 weeks taking out wheat, rye and barley to double-check? Alternatively, you might try taking a fecal antibody test for gliadin put out by enterloab.com. That lab has been a godsend to many who were told 'no celiac' and had to live with the issue for many years before being correctly diagnosed via the fecal antibody test.
