Post cdiff

I had sudden onset with no warning of bloody diarrhea resulting  in ICU admit for hypovolemic shock all occurred in 10 min time. I was diagnosed with pseudomembraneous enterocolitis and C Diff. Treated in hosp for 5 days released on oral Meds which I have finished. This was 4 weeks ago. All of this happened out of town and I can't get in to see GI Doc for 2 months in network . I do not know how to progess my diet as no info was given on discharge thinking I would have follow up much sooner. I am also still very weak and no energy after several units of blood in hospital. Any advice and does this take time to get over?

Have your symptoms of C.Diff gone? If they have, then you should be eating a healthy diet with plenty of Probiotics. Buy Acidophilis Tablets and Sacchromyces Boulidarii (usually from a health food store or online) and take them daily, probably for a couple of years. Did you develop C.diff after being on antibiotics? You should be very careful when taking antibiotics in the future. When I had C.Diff, I was very weak and tired for a number of months afterwards. So give your body enough rest to recover.

I wish you good health.
