I have had multiple surgeries (about 14 total). My hardest ones we're 2 separate small bowel rejections. I had 6 1/2 feet removed this past time along with 6 hernias repaired, adhesion removal and new mesh placed. I had a lot of diarrhea at first. The surgery was September 2015 it is now late April 2016 and I'm still having issues. I went from very loose, yellowish, oily stool for about two months after the operation to now where I only went the the bathroom about three times in a week! But, it just hit me again... HARD! I cannot stop having BMs. Obviously I don't want to do anything at all. No public places, walking in the woods or even Dr appointments. I'm in physical therapy and I'm scared to go for fear of having an accident.
Is it even possible to have IBS after two small bowel resections? I've had 15 ft removed all together. I just don't understand how this is happening. My surgeon told me that I would have, "short bowel syndrome" for the rest of my life. But instead it's been water weight, weight gain, irregularities, and pain. Either I'm constipated or can't stop going! I've not been eating fatty foods or anything. I am just feeling like I want to give up. I have three babies to take care of and really could use some advice. I'm from WV and we have some quacks for doctors. Nobody here really knows what they're doing. Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated.
