Recently started pooping 2-5x a day

I used to be a once a day pooper or every other day. Over the past 2 years it became twice a day, and within the past month or so I now go 2-5 times a day. Sometimes I can sit on the toilet for over an hour and go slowly but steadily the entire time. They are never solid, although I never really remember them ever being too solid, but they are now worse. Some are liquidy, and some are like soft serve ice cream. Any ideas of what can be wrong, besides diet and activity level? I am a 28/Male.

Actually I have not had anything close to constipation. For quite a while I have had to sit on the toilet for a long time regularly, just the past few weeks it went from 30 minute sessions to over an hour, and this is daily. Also, it is not sitting and waiting, but a slow and consistent dropping of poops the entire time. I am actually amazed and how much I poop, because it is not like I am eating any more, sometimes I eat less then normal.

Well, diarrhea can come from a bacteria floating around in the gut, a visit to a doc and antibiotics would clear it up, if that's what's going on.  If you do wind up taking medicine, eat "probiotics" for two weeks after, to restore normal intestinal flora after antibiotics kill both good and bad bacteria, which is in Activia yogurt or Acidophilus milk at the grocery store, or pill form at health food store.  Also, sometimes taking a new medication can do this, or changing the brand of vivtamins you may take.  By the way, only take vits a couple times a week, otherwise it can constipate you.

But actually, it's normal to go a few times when you go, and ice cream-like stools are also pretty normal.  From what you said about being in the bathroom for an hour, sounds to me like you may have had a bout of constipation recently, and this is just the result of it finally clearing everything out of your bowels.  Drinking extra water may help your overall situation.
