Yes and Yes.  I had inguinal hernia surgery which and mesh replacement which caused adhesions.  I had several surgeries to remove them and mabe  I should have given the first  with a barrier more time but it  been 15 months  since my last surgery and now I can feel them come back.  My surgeon said it is real easy flip or twist my colon because it is quite redundant.  He suggested removing the redundant part may help.  Anyway, cmy last surgery was with a Surgiwrap dissolvable mesh barrier.   He did not tack or staple the mesh in place (with dissolvable sutures or staples) but from what I read,  I think he should have.  I may try to go back to him for another try or maybe someone else.  I have gone to Adhesions.Org but I never see very many success stories.  A lot of people complain and when I write to them,  (if they have an email address) they never have the surgery for one reason or another.   The board endorss a Dr. Redan in FL.   He was using SprayShield or SprayGel but there is no news about it.  I don't think it worked.  Also,  I have heard of a Dr. Semertizes in Cinncinatti and a Dr. Clark Gerhart in PA.

Aub, I've never heard to removing a portion of the colon to relieve adhesions. However, I have heard to this surgery to help relieve severe constipation when the portion of the colon contains 'twists or turns' that could be retarding evacuation. Are you sure your doc said adhesions? In some cases adhesions form from surgery.
