Severe Stomach pains

I am 23.I have had gastrointeritis virus(not sure spelled correct), about 5 times over the last 2 years. My symptoms have gotten worse over the last 3 months.I have bad stomach pain.Bowl movements are ridiculous.I go so often I can't  I can't imagine how. It's not solid it's yellow liquid and green(sorry to be so informative).I feel okay sometimes. But when I eat anything it kicks in gear.I have this constant grumble that at this point I'm so tired of it.I'll eat food and it still grumbles as if I hadn't eating anything in days. That's the feeling.I went to the hospital yesterday.all they gave me was morphine and reglan a pat on the back and sent me home.I keep being told that it should clear up in a few days on it's own. It's been over 3 months now.I was perscribed MIRALAX for diarrhea. Can't say it's working.I was giving PYLERA for my stomach infection.12 pills a day for 10 days.about the 7th day the meds just stopped working.I finished it anyway, thinking it would take time.Nope.I'm getting real tired of them saying I'll fine and it will pass. They said if my symptoms get worse to come back. That was the whole point of me going in the first place.I don't know what to do.If it's an infection why am I not being given meds?Whether I eat or not.Stomach grumbles. It's so annoying and painful.I feel like pull the trigger already you know(Figure of speech).Enough's enough. Please if there's any advice anyone can give.I am out of options.I feel nothing is being done.I do not want to go through this the rest of my life.I am currently trying to get a job.But I can't in my condition. And when my insurance runs out what am I gonna do then? I am trying to get through this but it's so difficult. The pictures I was shown of my infection was white spots inside my stomach. Please if anybody can advise me.It would be much appreciated.I am currently taking protonix twice a day. Also the acids in my stomach feeling so hot as if it's boiling.

I returned to the Dr. today.  I have to be off the previdid for four wks. then take a stool test, and mail it in. and in four more wks. return to the dr., he will either tell me it is gone, or if not, will I suppose put me on more meds, for how long I don't know.  He said I probably got it from food, so I don't plan on eating out anymore.

I was given pylera for h pylori, which when the doc told me I had it, I had never heard of it, and it scared me, still does, anyhow I took the pylera for 5 1/2 days. it nearly killed me. its been 3 wks now, and im just feeling a little better, I felt like I had severe sunburn, and couldn't think straight, couldn't sleep, and was scared to death. I don't see the dr. again until nest week on the 28th. I hope I don't have it, but will find out then.  I wasn't sick when they found it, just routine endoscopy, they said you can catch it all kinds of ways, kissing, sex, and everything.  I have a heart and liver condition, don't know if thats why it effected me like it did, but i've never been so scared in my life. has anyone else had this problem, my daughter had it and they gave her three diffenent antibotics to take for six weeks. I will never take tetracycline as long as I live.  I want to get rid of this parasite, it scares me to think about it being inside my body, I saw pics. of it on my computer, yuk!

HI TO ALL,

I was told i have the h pylori by my doc so he give me the antibiotic )pylera) for 10 days, that was almost over a month . I have to wait 2 months to found out if the bacteria is gone. Lateley (about 2 weeks ago) I start getting mucus in my stool, then this urge to go to the bathroom and when I go , I have a mucus lake jelly, pinkish (probably blood) and I started to have pain in my chest. I have been to a cardio and did echo and the nuclear stress test, all is good. I am concern about this mucus that is getting a little annoying. Anyone has experienced that?I would really appreciate your input. BDW, I did call the doc and he told me not to worry, but it is getting more and more.

Sounds a lot like my symptoms. Finally after many many doctors...& lots of tests they found Crohn's disease. And H.Pylori in the tummy. My stomach would rumble all the time. Pylera treatment was awful. But so far after a surgery and endoscopy and colonoscopy they have narrowed the treatment down to Pentasa, Endocort, Humira injections for the Crohns. So far so good....My advice go to a gastro doctor and have a work up to see if you have Crohns....and AVOID STEROIDS AT ALL COST

You can't treat this condition in an ER.  Their job is to make sure you are either stable enough to be sent home and treated in a clinic setting, or seriously ill enough to be admitted and your care turned over to another doc.  I can't tell from what you posted if you are seeing a gastroenterologist for this problem.  That's who you need to see for proper followup and treatment.

The presence of yellowy/green diarrhea could be the result of gallbladder issues, so you may want to check with your doc about having both an ultrasound of your gallbladder and a HIDA scan to see if that might be the cause of the problem.

You might also want to try a very low-fat diet to see if that is of help. For some with gallbladder issues it does help.

Miralax used for constipation, so if you're taking that and your predominant issue is the diarrhea, some goofed in what they gave you.

Find out exactly waht the infection was in the stomach. Get the name - white spots can be due to a number different organisms or causes, but most often the white spots are due to H. pylori, a bacterium that is known to cause stomach acid problems. I'm not familiar with Pylera, so I can't comment on that. But if the problem was H. pylori, you should have been put on a couple of forms of antibiotics and an acid suppression med for a number of days, and then follow up (probably) with several months of acid suppression meds - such as the protonix. And if the docs suspect that this is an acid reflux problem, you may also have to carefully watch your diet. Look up the recommendations for a GERD diet. One site that I know of that has one is www.gicare.com.
