Smelly Gas Remedies please....!

Thank goodness for forums!  I would never ask anyone about this, so the anonymous nature of forums seemed the right place to go for info regarding the above....  
Two years ago to the month, I had a Sigmoid Colectomy done on my gut..  Very long story, and there have been some complications from this surgery (mainly having to do with herniation)..  However, the past couple of months I've been having really noxious gas problems, and I've never, ever had this in my life..  I am firstly wondering what I can take/do that might help this situation, and secondly if anyone has any idea why this is showing up now..  Thanks in advance for all info..!
