contracted gallbladder found on ultrasound ...no stones ...fasted 11hours
just had a hida scan the other day
dr. told me to take notice of pain with cck injection
i had no pain
results came back as GB functioning at 1%
very confused
could this be secondary to somethig else...ie SO?
HE RECOMMEDED TAKING OUT THE GB

Generally, there is only pain if your gallbladder is the problem. Narcotics typically aggravate the pain of biliary dyskinesia because they cause spincter of Oddi spasm. The nice thing about being a surgeon is that we can schedule these tests when I have OR availability the next day if positive. Without objective evidence of gallbladder disease, it's hard to justify cholecystectomy.
I am going to be schdueling a hida scan w cck and so far I have read nothing psotive about ths at all I keep hearing how uncomfortable it is and how much pain people are in do they not do soemthing to control the pain during this i do not do well with bad pain
Beverly, not necessarily. It can be variable. There are some people with normal function that feel like hell when the CCK is injected. So the best thing to do is don't presume until you get a decent idea of what the result says.

Hi, I was just on here trying to find out the same thing. I had a hida done on Wed Dec 31st and they kept asking how is your pain, how is your nausea. I kept saying there is none of either. I do not have my results yet, I have no idea how it went or why no pain or nausea.
