Stomach virus or worse? WORRIED!

This may be a little confusing but I'm worried and my doctor is gone for 2 weeks so I thought...what the heck!

I've been getting checked out for what I'm calling "episodes" I've had.  Right now I am waiting on my ultrasound resaults.  I had blood work done for ulcers and gullbladder both came back ok.  These "episodes" consist of abdominal pain/discomfort, back pain, heaviness in my chest and down around my bra line area. I can sometimes get really hot and nausiated to the point of making myself vomit so it will stop.   When I do throw up, I noticed it was really thick and would sometimes even look like the food wasnt even digesting.

Ok, the point of my question...  Earlier this week I thought I was having an "episode" and after I threw up I felt ok until an hour later.  I got flu like symptoms...chills, queasy stomach, fever...a little stomach pain and body aches..  I got really tired and slept most of the day.  Later in the evening I started having diarrhea.  The diarrhea got to be uncontrollable and I would be up that night every 2hrs it seemed and would almost not make it to the bathroom.  By morning it got more controllable and I looked up remadies and started eating bananas and drinking Gator Aid.  It got better.  I only vomited that once but I was still tired and had hot and cold flashes.  Now I am almost 100% better but still have some issues that I'm starting to wonder if are from the virus or could be from whatever causes the "episodes". I still have no appetite, I'm VERY gassy (sometimes it hurts), I have bowel movements frequently but they are very small, my stomach feels weird and queasy a lot.  It's almost a feeling of being too full of liquids and when you're food doesnt want to go down after eating too fast.  And to add on top of everything, I started my period so I REALLY have no idea what to make of all of this.  I', just extremely worried it would be whatever is wrong with me, getting worse. I hope someone on here can make sense of all this and shine some light on to it for me.

Sorry it's been so long.  I forgot about this site.  I know what's wrong.  Gall stones. Now I just have to lose enough weight to have an out patient surgery.  Untill then, follow a diet.

I know it's hard to wait for answers, but at least it sounds like you are getting good care, even if the holiday has testing on hold for 2 weeks.  My best guess is your gallbladder, and I suspect your MD will check your gallbladder function with a HIDA scan.  The ultrasound shows stones (cholelithiasis) well, but sludge/cholecystitis doesn't show up as well.  Abdominal symptoms can be hard to figure out.  I was lucky that I was seeing a surgeon for something else and he asked about my low weight, did an ultrasound, and stones showing up answered my mystery that quick.

At first I thought it was certain foods.  That is one reason I was tested for ulcers.  It's more random then anything.  They did a full abdominal ultrasound and checked every organ in my abdoman.  My doctor said that is the ultrasound doesn't show anything she wants to do a "special x-ray".  I dont know what that mean... :o)

Did they ultrasound your gallbladder/abdomen?  If that's negative you should still get HIDA scan.  It sounds like your gallbladder to me, but abdominal pain and GI symptoms can be hard to diagnose.

Do you have any idea of what triggers these episodes? Do they just spike up randomly or do they occur after you have eaten a certain kind of food (such as fried or fatty things)?
