Hello I am a person who has suffered for at least 3 - 4 years with diverticulitis with on set of problems relating to my being extremely bloating, constipated you name it, and the PAIN unbearable at times. Yet I have tried everything Fiber in my diet, changing my eating habits, eating smaller amounts so I wouldn't feel as bloated or constipated.
Low-sugar diet helps in bloating. You may want exclude any sugary food (sugar, sweets, fruits, cola, any alcohol, beer and potatoes (starch)) from your diet for a week and see results.
Before that, maybe a cleansing enema.
Fibers are good in constipation but they produce gas - so think. Raw vegetables produce a lot of gas, also cereals and fruits. Maybe you should drop fivber supplements for a while, if you're taking them.
