Teen with Nausea/Lump in Throat feeling

My daughter is 17 - she had shingles last summer and since then she has had irregular periods with severe symptoms that include nausea (vomitless), a lump in her throat with the feeling that her throat is open, flushing or paleness, bowel movements that are not daily but somewhat constipated and larger than normal - I am convinced her hormones are at the root of this problem as she has terrible acne outbreaks and severe mood swings - she is fairly tall and thin and i want to keep her eating - when she doesn't have this nausea she eats well - she has been put on the pill to attempt to regulate her hormones but we would like to know how to treat the symptom of nausea when it comes - tums seem to help and i am going to try an OTC acid reflux to see how that works - we welcome any ideas you may have -

even she thinks this is directly related to her cycle - i am interested in the asthma component - except when she has this sudden onset of nausea, her throat feels like it is open and not closing - will look into the pulmonic dilation tho - thanx

i wouldnt exacvtly say its hormones...that isnt the cause of all teenagers health problems, she could have IBS it is common amonmg women especially if they are in a stressful environment...and we all know teens are stressed. why dont you try talking to her ...it almost sounds like anxiety... but it could also be asthma...it can cause those symptoms...nausea because lack of oxygen and lump in the throat because of pulmonic dilation which will also cause the palor
