What's Wrong?

After experiencing chest pains, a somewhat accelerated heartbeat, a sore throat, and mucus, I visited my doctor and she gave me all the heart tests (EKG, d-dimer) and both were negative (so no heart problems here).  She didn't really know what was wrong, but I later discovered that it could be a acid reflux problem.  She recommended I take Zantac (75 mg).

After taking Zantac for a couple days, I find that my throat's still sore, I still have mucus (colorless), and my heart's beating heavy (I can feel the heart beating harder than normal, although the rate is around 60-80 bpm).

What's wrong with me?

Did the GP listen to your chest sounds? If you think your heart beast stronger than normal, it can mean that you don"t get enough oxygen into your blood. This, together with mucus and a sore throat sounds to me more like a chest or a throat infection, bacterial or viral.
Try to help your throat by drinking warm milk with honey, or some nice ginger tea with honey.
Watch your body, check your lymphnodes for swelling, take your temperature, keep yourself warm. If anything changes, go to GP again.

If you have been having chest pains for long enough that your doctor has done testing to make sure your heart is okay, there is no reason that you would need to phone an ambulence or go to the ER.  Just make sure that you continue to work on what is causing this with your doctor.
