Bleeding when I poop(MALE)

My step Dad experience heat exhaustion 3 days ago and ever since when he poops he bleeds. Is this connected and should he go to the ER right away?

hello, i also strongly suspect hemorrhoids, but please seek a doctor because hemorrhoids is not the only thing which causes bleeding, it might be some ulcers, or something else.

Could be hemerroids ..you can get meds OTC to help with this or a doctor can prescribe ..

Rectal bleeding is not normal and should always be medically investigated.  If the volume of blood is large (I would say 100 ml+) then maybe better to seek urgent medical advice.  If the volume of blood is a few drops then not so urgent but still essential to get advice and diagnosis.  Google rectal bleeding to find out more - the Medicinenet is particularly informative.

If the diagnosis is inconclusive then maybe request a colonoscopy.
