I have milder but similar symptoms and am pretty scared. Could this be stomach cancer ?
Your stomach or your intestines? Your stomach is located right at the base of your rib cage, your intestines go from there to your navel.
Might be a case of diverticulitis if it's in your intestines and it hurts when you press on it.
Thanks so much for your help. I have been tested for hpylori and do not have it. I have been seeing a specialist but he just says its IBS. I also have alot of problems with GERD. Could it be stomach errosion from too much acid??
Tummyyuck,
You should def have that checked out by your physician....try and see if you can get a visit with a Gastroenterologist. H. pylori is responsible for the majority of peptic ulcers. H. pylori does not cause ulcers in every infected person.
Some Symptoms of an Ulcer:
-is a dull, gnawing ache.
-comes and goes for several days or weeks.
-occurs 2 to 3 hours after a meal.
-occurs in the middle of the night (when the stomach is empty).
-is relieved by food.
-is relieved by antacid medications.
Also may include these symptoms:
-weight loss
-poor appetite
-bloating
-burping
-nausea
-vomiting
If you have ANY of these please go to the nearest ER:
-sharp, sudden, persistent stomach pain
-bloody or black stools
-bloody vomit or vomit that looks like coffee grounds
If you have ANY of the above emergency symptoms, it may be caused by:
-perforation--when the ulcer burrows through the stomach or duodenal wall.
-bleeding--when acid or the ulcer breaks a blood vessel.
-obstruction--when the ulcer blocks the path of food trying to leave the stomach.
These are some important facts:
-A peptic ulcer is a sore in the lining of the stomach or duodenum.
-The majority of peptic ulcers are caused by the H. pylori bacterium. Many of the other cases are caused by NSAIDs. None are caused by spicy food or stress.
-H. pylori can be transmitted from person to person through close contact and exposure to vomit.
-Always wash your hands after using the bathroom and before eating.
-A combination of antibiotics and other drugs is the most effective treatment for H. pylori peptic ulcers.
Hope this helps in some way! Feel better!
