thank god somebody else has this! or had it. I have not gone to the doctor yet but everything you are saying seems really helpful. I usually eat dinner pretty early but lately ive been eating a lot more sweets and sometimes a snack before bed. yes its so psychological cuz ill look at the clock and KNOW that its time to feel sick and it happens. but yes it sounds like maybe what you had because it is up in my throat to where it makes me sick to my stomache to swallow and everything. the diet will probably help. any other suggestions?
Right off the bat what you describe sounds like it might be acid reflux. (I've had the exact same symptoms. And yes, eventually it DID become psychological. The digestive system is very susceptible to psychological strain.) Have you gone to see a doctor about this?
How many hours before your go to bed do you normally eat your last meal? That may have something to do with it. Also, what kind of diet do you keep to? Are you mostly a vegetarian, do you eat a lot of grains or protein, etc? You may want to cut back on the milk, but usually lactose intolerance is felt in the tail, not the head, if you get my drift.
You might want to try a really bland diet for the moment: avoid citrus fruits, pill-form vitamins, fatty foods, greasy foods, coffee, alcohol, chocolate and spicy food. Dropping the dairy, as well as red meat, pork and chicken with the skin. Also avoid eating big or heavy meals at night, and try not to eat anything within 3 hours of laying down. If Zantac helps out, then that may be what you need, but you need to consult a doctor for this.
I've experienced pretty much everything you describe and for me it was GERD (and LPRD). Basically it's acid reflux that goes really high into your throat. There may also be some irritation in your stomach, which would explain the nausea. Finally, you may also be having an adverse reaction to something in your diet, so starting with a really really simple diet for a few weeks (I know, it seems like forever) of rice (no beans), fruits, and low-fat meats (like chicken breast and fish) might be helpful. But again, talk to your doctor.
