My eight year old son has had episodes of vomiting at night for several years. He will vomit one night a week for three or four weeks straight and then not again for several months. Then he'll vomit three nights in a row...only one time per night.... and then not again for another few months. We thought it may be a food allergy, we noticed that he seemed to do better when not drinking juice, but then he won't have had juice for several months and he'll have another episode. He wakes up two to three hours after going to bed. We hear him cry, he vomits a huge amount and then falls right back to sleep. Often times he doesn't remember the next day. He is otherwise very healthy. After nights when he has vomited, he acts completely normalNormal saline flush. The pediatrician seems stumped. I had them give me a referral to a pediatric GI, but our appt. is not for a few more weeks. Any ideas as to what this could be?
