just wondered if you have finally had your operation or what happened as noone replied to you.
You must be beside yourself :o(
I myself am waiting on my date for my operation but my story is slightly more successful than yours.
If you reply to me then I will tell all :o)
Just an update.. I had my MRI scan and I was told I'd have the results in 2 weeks. Well, 4 weeks later I phoned the hospital to ask what was going on, they told me they had sent the results to my GP. I phoned my GP and was told by the secretary to come see the doctor that day to talk about the results, which I did. I walked in and asked about my results, he looked at me like I was stupid and told me he had no results, I would need to see my consultant about them. I told him the hospital had told me they had sent results and his secretary had confirmed he had them, he grunted and found my results. He told me I hadn't had a MRI scan i'd had a different scan while having a camera down my throat, I told him I hadn't, it was a MRI scan, he grunted again and told me nothing untoward was found. I hadn't got gallstones. I told him I had, and he asked me what gave me that "impression", I said my ultrasound scan had shown I had them. He told me I hadn't had an ultrasound scan! I insisted I had, told him when and where it was performed. He went back on his pc and said "oh yes you did". You have gallstones and have a history of them. I told him I hadn't a history of them! I then asked what was next, would I hear from him or my consultant about the next step. He told me to keep my appointment with my consultant, I told him I hadn't got one. I'm struggling with 3 children, taking codeine for pain and I've no clue what's happening. I'm scared to see my GP again. Any Advice please??
I do not know how things are done where you are but I went through a similar situation recently here and I sat and waited and waited and waited and I was in pain in pain in pain and nothing was being done. Now I have found out that I was not even told all that the doctors have found out from my tests. I went into the doctors office and threw the biggest fit anyone could do in person with out having to worry about being arrested and I sat there until I was able to get someone to answer me and get my case going. Then obviously I lost faith in where I was going and switched my clinic and I got farther in one day there than I have in the last few years where I was at before. I am however going back there tommorrow for the fact that I am having the doctors face there faults and mistakes with me and tell them and make them realize that I am not just another number and that my life does matter and if they do not start to care for there patients more I will take further steps to insure the safety of the other patients that choose to see them. I do not know if you have that option but do not allow them to put you on the back burner especially if they have told you what is wrong. The gallbladder will not fix itself and you need medical attention. Take care of yourself because noone else will.
That is crazy that they would send you home knowing how much pain your in and the reason. I guess they might not think its an emergency but you cant always trust doctors/hosp. nOT TO scare you in anyway but in my area there was a guy who was admitted to the hosp with gallbladder symptoms and they sent him home and days later he dieD. he was young i think it was late 20's early 30's. You shouldnt have to suffer so i hope they do something for you asap
My attack started on the Friday, I was admitted through ER on the Sunday, I was let home on the Wednesday with 3 packets of painkillers which I was taking every 4 hours. They sent me home in the same state I was admitted in. I'm in the UK and under the NHS, everything is a waiting game here. Hopefully after the scan tomorrow we can get something done fairly soon. TY for all your advise. It's appreciated alot.
I would go ahead and call your doctor or if they are really bad go to the e.r. My longest attack last about 20 hrs and i ended up in the e.r. and had it taken out. I wouldnt put up with having attacks that last as long as yours do.
You are very welcome and am so glad that things are on the move ;)
Ty I just did and they've just had a cancellation and i'm in tomorrow, late afternoon!!!! Yippe! The balls finally rolling, tyvm for your advice!!!!!
CALL THEM....you have to stay behind the doctors to get the job done. Dont take no for an answer!
