Stomach pain

Hi.  I'm 34 year old mother of 2 young children.  For the last year, I haven't been able to feel normal.  Last September, I was vomiting so I went to the doctor and she ran regular blood work and it showed urobilinogen in my urine (4.0).  She did an ultrasound of my gallbladder and liver and it showed no abnormalities.  We did urine again a week later and it was down to 0.2.  Fast forward to this April, I've started getting nausea, upper stomach pains, back pain, occasional reflux (which I've never had outside of pregnancy), and weight loss (I'm about 10 lbs lighter than normal- I usually weigh 125, I'm now 115).  I eat a clean, organic, while foods diet.  No gluten.  Don't smoke.  Occasional glass of wine.  My blood tests have always shown me to be borderline anemic.  I eat meat and have taken iron pills before and nothing has changed that.  My primary concern now is weight loss and abdominal and back pain mainly on upper left side.  My stools have always been inconsistent in texture or color so it's hard to say if they have changed.  Any suggestions? I have an endoscopy scheduled for 2 weeks, but I can't get my mind off it.

I'd see if you can get a colonoscopy at the same time as the endoscopy. Its possible it could be an issue with your intestinal tract causing the problems and an endoscopy only goes so far.

I just had my gallbladder removed about 3 weeks ago and had right upper quadrant pain/cramping/a fullness or bloated feeling with occasional back pain. I had a gallbladder ultrasound done that showed nothing but then they done something called a Hida scan that showed my gallbladder had only a 16% ejection fraction. I believe 30% or so is normal. When the surgeon removed my GB he said that I had a chronically infected GB that had been causing my problems. Ask them if they will do a Hida scan. I know GB pain usually hurts on the right side but your other symptoms sounds a lot like gallbladder trouble. It wouldn't hurt to check. I had no gallstones so the GB ultrasound showed normal.
