bloody stool please help!

hi im a 24 year old male and for the past few months ive been experiencing sharp pains in an area in front of my tail bone. Every once in a while I would be sitting at my computer and then get a sharp spike in pain and it would go away. I didn't think it was anything but today when i went to have a bowel movement there was a LOT of liquid red blood in it! it made all the water in the bowl pink. before went to the bathroom i had another one of those pain spasms.

ive been reading around and was wondering if it could be due to internal hemorrhoids or something more serious?
im confused because i havent been straining and i go regularly.

thanks

It sounds like hemorrhoids (internal).
Just a note* Although rectal bleeding is not normal, it is very common.
Hence a sore throat is also not normal, but common
See your doctor, but try not to worry too much.

Any episode(s) of rectal bleeding is/are not normal and should be medically investigated so please consult a doctor and, if necessary, a G.I. specialist.  So that you are better informed prior to your consultation, google rectal bleeding and click on to one of the many sites - the Medicinenet site is particularly informative.

I would be very nervous too,
I would think that any telephone advice nurse would tell you to come in ASAP. As there are many very serious conditions that may be responsible for your symptoms  It sounds like your body is trying to tell you something...maybe you should listen. I hope that you have a positive outcome.
