I've been having burning pinching sensation under my ribRib cage painsternumSternum - view of the outside (anterior) upper left abdomen. lot of times it feels like I was punched in the stomach. it does radiates to my left leg. this is not 24 hours a day. by pretty much any kind of movement inside my stomach will start sensation and it is getting worse. I had upper GI, colonoscopy, CT scan, couldn't find anything wrong. Now, I have an appointment for laproscopic procedure to look at the inside of stomach cavity. Please anyone has any idea?
I had suspected Irritable Bowel Syndrome about 10 years ago when I was at university, but it cleared up when I finished and I was 'regular' for several years.
I don't know if the above symptoms started at this same time, but I now go from diahorrea to constipation, and rarely have a natural bowel movement. I also suffer from acid-indigestion from time to time.... probbaly a combination of poor diet and anxiety :-(
Could all these things be tied-in together? I gave up with my doctor because he seemed disinterested, and I felt like a hypocondriac describing all these symptoms to him! LOL
He wasn't even listening - kept asking me about the 'pain' in my chest and I had to keep correcting him, as it just feels like a pinching or tight sensation... it isn't sore.
Jolley - I see that your message is from last July - did you ever get to the root cause of your pinching sensation in the chest, as I'm pretty sure it must be what I have?
Any help you can throw my way would be greatly appreciated!

I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH IBS AND GERD.WHEN THIS ALL BEGAN I WAS EXPERIENCED SHORTNESS OF BREATH AND I HAD LOW BLOOD PRESSURE, BLURRY VISION AND A MILD THROAT.I JUST FOUND OUT THAT I HAVE MILD ARTHIRITS IN MY NECK AND LOWER SPINE.MY DOCTORS ARE DOING EVERY EFFORT TO HELP ME BUT THEY ARE COMING SHORT.IM GOING TO SCHEDULE AN MRI OF STOMACH AND CHEST HOPEFULLY I KIND FIND SOME RELIEF.

I also have a constant burning sensation in my lower right abdomen, about halfway between the bottom of my ribcage and the tip of my pelvis.
I went to my doctor about this, approx 5 years ago and he suggested it might be gastric inflammation or something.... but he maintained that the pinching sensation should be mobile along the gastro-intestinal tract....NOT in the exact same place - well I can pinpoint mine to the last Millimetre - it never moves and I am conscious of it about 75% of the day.
