Oh goodness, I feel your pain about the insurance, I'm actually thinking of consulting a malpractice lawyer. My suggestions are based on what I've had to do. Do a google search and find every doctor you can call. Explain your case. Obtain your old medical records if you can and have available to fax over or give to any office at the request. Go into doctors offices if you have to. Next, get on the internet and apply for disability. Don't try to do it by yourself over the internet. I was prompted, after initially online paperwork, to schedule an appointment. They did the rest of the paperwork for me. That will at least get you incoming insurance on the way. If you haveen't already, apply for Medi-Cal if you can. It's worth a long shot, but it's better than nothing. Do as much as you can. If you arre collecting unemployment right now, make this your job. Oh, and if your girlfriend left you over this, then it's good you found out what kind of person she was now! If you can find a probono doctor with all your phone calls or in office visits, great. If not, disability or Medi-Cal or your next options. That is unless you get a top notch job with excellent insurance. Just don't give up no matter what, even if youre getting the run around, just keep sending in the paperwork they are requesting. Beleive me, I have been there. Right now I'm eating my mom's savings away from self pay appointments as my insurance is horrible and wants me to wait 6 months for urgent appointments. But I actually do have malpractice cases, which after all of this, you may/may not want to persue a case. If anything, if you can't get a qualifying diagnosis for disability (BTW you can apply as many times as you want) you can use depression as a diagnosis, just get a note from a psychiatrist saying you can't work. Save up for that one appointment. I know that's a lot of info, and I hope I didn't overwhelm you. I just trully feel for you and wish I could help more. Medical care can be horrible, but persistance will trully get you somewhere, at least I have to beleieve. I trully am sending you my love and am wishing you all the luck in the world. Don't give up no matter what and remember, don't let the medical field win by killing yourself over this.
