I actually have my Right side thyroid removed due to a huge nodule,,and had a test not to long ago it came back fine. My constipation is due to opiate pain pills,,but the miralax is the only thing that has wroked and Ive tried it all.
Have your thyroid checked, i began with fibromyalgia years ago, then diagnosed with pernicious anemia, with raynaud's then recently with graves disease, my main complaint was constipation, since the tiredness had always been there. my tsh never showed anything so they would not even consider the fact that it could be thyroid related, it was frustrating, I finally insisted on further tests that showed bad t3, t4, plus an ultrasound showed a goiter. but all started with fibro which they lump everyone into if they cannot find what is wrong with you. trust me 14 years later suffering from scattered periods, pain, fatigue, consitpation, fatigue, fatigue, gritty eyes etc... they finally listened to me.
I have severe constipation probs and also sit inthe bathroom forever usually crying,,about the irregular looking BM mos def contact a doc as far as the constipation goes try Miralax,,Ive tried any and everything and Miralax is a miracle,,it makes everything make to normal.
twenty minutes? Not bad I have been stuck in there for 5 hours to relieve constipation pain. Get worried, can't feel my legs. CalGal gave good advice.
Your intestines are all 'hooked together' so it would be impossible for you to lose a portion of it. The GI system is can vary the look and the smell of what it puts out depending on it's current state. If this stool looked extremely 'off' to you, and the problem continues please check with your doctor.
If you're alternating between fairly decent bowel movements and then suddenly getting consitpated, take a close look at your diet. In fact, keep a food diary and see if you can track the food or foods that might be contributing to the problem. In some people food problems can cause constipation, even through many people think that the only thing that can happen is diarrhea. That's not true. One 'common' food that can be constipating is dairy, but there are plenty of others. It's not always the answer, but it's worth a try.
