i have been examined by the GI surgeon and his opinion was every thing is alright and there is no hernia , so just lead a normal life my pain too has vanished. i may also add that before this surgeon the MD Gastro also had examined and ruled out hernia.
I don't think it's urgent to get surgery, but you should try and get it soon. Getting another opinion sounds like a good idea.
thanx , any idea how long can i wait before surgery, as it is this surgeon advised that take advice from atleast two more surgeons before going through the surgery.
A paraumbilical hernia is diagnosed mainly by a physical exam, not by an ultrasound. I would believe the surgeon that said this is what it is. It sounds like you might need surgery to repair this.
hi the surgeon who has diagonised as para umbilical hernia has done so only after physical examination.
Did you have a physical exam done by a doctor to examine you for the paraumbilical hernia?
earlier i had severe pain on both sides of my navel and lots of gas too , however now the pain is slightly above the navel and it is not very severe i did not meet the endocrinologist, as this surgeon has advised that this pain may not be related to thyroid issue.
Can you please answer my questions from above.
hi i have been checked by a surgeon who has diagonised it as para umbilical hernia , however when it was checked by the ultra sound of the abdomen the radologist was of the opinion every thing is okay. this surgeon has now told me to get it checked by some other surgeon to confirm his diagonisis.
Welcome to the gastroenterology community! What does the pain feel like? Where is the pain? Have you gone back to your endocrinologist?
