excess mouth mucous

A relative, who is being treated for an ulcerated esophagus, is having excessive, chronic, clear mucous in her mouth and throat.  This mucous prevents her from eating and drinking properly, talking, and taking meds. The ENT said it is not from the sinuses.  Is this severe mucous problem common with an ulcerated esophagus, and what can be done about it?

I am wondering about some things like constant nausea and have acid reflux and just stopped taking losec for that but have had ongoing bouts of nausea and stomach pain I also get bouts of constapation or loose watery bowels that are stringy like a worm gross to talk about it I have been constapated for up to 3 weeks at a time I also deal with severe migranes that last for over a week long.I am also taking wellbutrin for depression and don't knot if that is causing the problem.I get severe pains in my stomach and nasty gas too.No matter what I eat it won't go away I have taken gravol and it helpe a little just to make it bearable for 4 hrs then it comes back.I take temazipam to help me sleep too but only as needed.I see a chiropractor for neck and back problems too.I am getting tired of feeling so ill all the time and wonder how to relieve it as my doctor is moved and I don't drive and can't get out to him.

My dad is doing the same thing with the mucous problem. Of course he did have stomach cancer and they removed it and used part of his small intestine for his new stomach and connected it to his esophagus. He has had numerous scopes where they have went in to stretche his esophagus he had the surgery on his stomach a year ago he just started having the mucous problem with his esophagus in the last couple of months. They are talking about putting stint in his esophagus now. When he drinks just a few sips of something it somes back up and the muscous comes up with it. So I am trying to find my dad help as well. I have not heard of the ulcerated esophagus before. The doctors in Ohio just seem they have done all that they can do.

We were told that the Mayo clinic in Jacksonville Florida is the best hospital in the united states so that might be our next option. But he is cancer free it is just this mucous problem.

I know this doesn't help but you are the first I have found that has the same issues.

Wish you and your relative the best.
