gerd medications (prevacid, nexium... )

Has anyone had to try more then 1 type of medicine to relieve their stomach pain from too much acid, gerd or whatever reason they are on the meds. I tried prevacid for 5 weeks and it didn't help at all. I am now trying prilosec and have been on it for a week now, It does seem to have helped somewhat but I still do have problems. I know some of my problems could be from not eating a lot. I don't know what to eat so sometimes I will skip eating which probably isn't good for my stomach. I am having a endoscopy done on Monday. Any info for be appreciated.

Protonix works best for me, I was skeptical after Prilosic didn't seem to help at all, Good Luck.

There are a lot of people who have tried different meds, you're not alone. Not each med works optimally for each person. You can check out gicare.com to get suggestions on what foods to eat and which to avoid. Diet can play a big part for some people.

i have taken nexium, zegerid, plus carafate liquid.  You do not fool around acid problems, because if it goes untreated you can get  Barretts Esophagus, it can become cancer.  It is a slow growing cancer.  But you do not need cancer at any time.  And make sure that you take your medicine.
