heart burn & gas pain

I have been suffering from gassy stomach (gas pain) and mild/medium heartburn for couple of weeks and have been taking (RX) CARAFATE  for about 10 days and today I am taking PREVACID as well, my condition shows no improvement, does anyone knows or had suffered from the same problem? I don't want to go seeing kind  doctor afraid he would put me through all kind of test, I need help.
I hope nothing is major...thanks

Sorry I didn't see the part about carafate. If you have been eating a blan diet and this it should help. If doing this and eating normal then change to blan diet. 10 days and no improvement might be time to see a doctor if this is very abnormal for you.

You should be eating a blan diet until it completely goes away. I eat nothing but boiled chicken, pasta, rice and bread. No sauces, no soda, only water. Then after a few days I start eating stuff like eggs and cereals, dairy. Then after another few days I go back to regular foods. If you set off your system and it is irritated you might be keeping it from healing if you don't change to blan foods while it is healing.

You can try some meds from your local pham and ask for advice from the parm. It might speed up healing.

If you do all this and it still doesn't heal lets say in 1.5 to 2 weeks I suggest seeing a doctor. They might give you antibotics or run tests. But you must eat blan and really really blan while it is healing. Be very strict and it will heal faster.
