liver lesion found

iqy
On a routine ultrasound the doctor found something on my liver. No symptoms, i just went for a medical checkup. After the discovery, I did a CT of my liver , Ct of my entire abdomen and chest, MRI of the liver, blood test. Still they are unable to diagnose. They don't know what it is so they recommended liver resection to remove lesion. I am 42 year old male. What should I do? Should I do the resection? I never had any symptoms. Also, they said it was very vascular. It's about 4.4cm. One doctor told me her gut instinct is it's a Hemangioma. But are there any tests except biopsy, we can make anywhere in the world to determine what does is? They said because it is so vascular, I might bleed if they try to doa biopsy. My problem is, supposed I did the resection, and God forbid I die, but the lesion was benign. The operation would have been successful but the patient died :-)
Sorry for the humour, I am so frustrated I cant explain.
Thanks for any response.

this must be very nerve wrecking. .check with the liver trust. hep cental. any other liver sites for info regarding alternatives to biopsies                The liver like any other organ is susseptable to prblems other than drinking and or drugging. I hope one of your drs is a heptologist? the liver regenerates its self very nicely barring complications. Death is always a risk when going under knife. what are your options? talk to as many specialists as you can  to get a popular consenus. or wait for the lesion to make the decision for you.  You do not seem that way inclined at all. Keep on asking you will find your answers. Best of luck to you  dasflueff HCV
