looking for help

I have been told that I have a Parasaphageal Hernia (very Large) and every doctor that I go to tells me that I have to lose weight before the surgery can be performed.  I suffer alot and I need the surgery.  I have tried so hard to lose weight and can not. I have been told that my stomach is 35% in my chest, and that causes me to have trouble breathing.  I need to know if the surgery can be done with me being over weight so that I can keep looking for a doctor to do this.  Or do I just keep on suffering and live with it.

I weight 192 pounds.  I have spoke to people that weighed more when they had they surgery and did fine.

You may want to check and get a second opinion, however, depending upon what you weight is it may complicate both the surgery and any possible positive results you might get from the procedure. The weight will continue to push your stomach upward and your tissues may not be able to maintain the closure between the lungs and the abdominal cavity. That 'closure' is very necessary to maintain the balance of pressure that allows you to be able to breathe well.
