mushy poop

This is embarrassing as well as gross, but my poop over the past year or so has become mushy.  It has the consistancy of peanut butter.  Often times after I have a bowel movement more  oozes out a few minutes later.  I can wipe forever and it just won't stop.  I use to have solid stools.  What has happened?  Is it my diet?  Am I not getting enough fiber? If anyone has had a similar problem PLEASE help me.  Thank you so much.

mushy poop

I just can't figure it out, I'm starting to think that the Food and Drug Administration is screwing us over again.  We purchase out food from the inflated priced, government approved, grocery stores infested with pesticides, drugs and antibiotics, E.coli, higher gluten content, over pasteurized aimed at making us sick so we can then turn to the other half of this administration and search through a overabundance of over the counter medications designated to cure our newly found medical conditions, but they don't help at all, actually they probably increase our symptoms.
The next step is to make an appointment to see your MD and to relay to you what happened at my appointment I explained to my doctor about my embarrassing washroom issues and he ran through the usual list of reasons that he and his medical books could come up with and one by one I went through them eliminating them from my diet.  Bread and gluten, dairy products, eggs, beef, pork, chicken, fish, corn, peas, beans, potatoes, tomatoes, carrots and parsnips and other vegetables, alcohol,  excess spices including salt and pepper, nuts, refined sugars, and then tried changing to a complete vegetarian diet and then a vegan lifestyle and attempting health food products and the addition of probiotic yogurts and added fibre.
After 3 years and countless tests on my digestion system, stomach,  liver, kidneys, colon, intestinal, I was tested for gluten issues, crones, celiac,
I tried to be tested for Leaky Gut but they don't recognize that as being a medical issue in Canada, that's a good one when out government decides what is legit as a medical condition - the same Jack...es that spend all of their time and our money arguing with each other as to who the hell is in charge and how you have to listen to me because Canada hated you more than they hated me and somehow elected me into office, why don't they ever have a "None Of The Above" on the ballet.
I spend an hour or more a day on the crapper and am always concerned with the location of the nearest washroom and alternative washrooms so I don't have another accident.   I have been living with this mushy poop, it's not diarrhea but more the consistency of soft serve ice cream and always makes such a mess, I'm thinking that I need a water hose in my toilet to wash it down.
Please let me know if anybody knows or finds out how to eliminate this issue.
Thank You

Probiotics might help. Many I know have said they helped them.

Hello, sounds a bit like too much aromatase, have you had your hormones tested, low progesterone or testosterone can cause all of those symptoms especially reduced bowl function and lubrication.

Any luck anyone?  I'm dealing with this now. Have cut out gluten, corn and seriously cut back on dairy and processed food over the past few years. I now only eat gluten and corn free chips and bread and only rarely. I try to eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Anyone have any clues?  Leaky gut? Probiotics?  Intolerances?
I've been having many digestive disorders in past year and a half. From upset stomach, nausea, intestine discomfort and pain, mushy stool, hives and so on. GI dr. ran colonoscopy, endoscopy small bowel series, blood work and CT scan. Everything came back normal. Of course in that situation dr. started scratching his head and bingo..."You got IBS". IBS by the way is imaginary disorder/disease that is being told to a patient when a dr. cannot find any solution. He said to eat smaller meals, almost no sugar, little bit of bread and carbs and to intake more vegetables and medium amount of protein. At the end he said, "Drink plenty of fluid and increase fiber". I took his advice and the only thing from that list that helped me a bit was to cut on bread and processed sugars. As stubborn as I am, I took probiotics (14 strains, 30b units once a day) and I can say that it helped me more than his whole list of to-do, not-to-do. I stopped taking probiotics for 6-7 months and some of the problems came back. Next thing to check is liver and pancreas. It is surprising how these two organs can trick you in to believing that you have intestine or stomach problem, when actually liver is getting damaged behind the scene, or pancreas. I will continue with probiotics and my diet while checking each and every single organ in my body.

11 years.....my routine was like clockwork. had to poop everythree days. One terd, then pee, one wipe and done.....then something happened in july of 2001 at the age of 24. One day i finished breakfast and then i started getting all itchy and my hands broke out and a few hours later i went to the bathroom and it was like pooping red clay dirt. And every poop from then its been the same. i have been on a water diet for a week, cut out all bread and milk, taken fiber supplements and been tested for celiacs. Nothing shows any issues. I am so sick of this s***...literally. I have to plan my daily routine around going to the bathroom b/c the only way i can get clean is to use a wash cloth and a sink...which i can only do at home. Kill me.

Sounds just like me. Did you find out what's going on? Did you do anything that helped?

Try using fiber, Metamucil, Fiber one etc.  It will normally firm you up in two to three days.  Great for your colin.  Need to continue for a while or maybe forever.  If this doesn't help, see your Physcian.

Bottoms Up!

You may have an allergy of peanut butter or peanuts. how often to you eat it? If you eat it often try not to eat it very much. That should help.

Ever since 2007 I have had mushy poop.  Done all kinds of tests, changed my diet.  It was always the same answer from the doctors,  need more fiber in your diet, watch out for carbs, just what ever they thought, oh your just stressed need more water, rest.  REALLY..... They don't know.  I seen this commercial about probiotics  one day.  I thought gee maybe I need to put good bacteria into my gut.  went to health food stores, shopped around, OMG  there was just noway I could afford the price even with the cheapest brand every two weeks and then you were not guaranteed that they would survive passing through your stomach.   So I looked into other ways to get good bacteria which were teas, Sauerkraut
Miso Soup. ...
Soft Cheeses. ...
Kefir: Probiotic-Filled Drink. ...
Sourdough Bread. ...
Milk With Probiotics. ...
Sour Pickles. and good old yogurt which I love.   Sooo I started eating two yogurts aday and just in three days there was a changed in my poop.  I now eat two  yogurts a day everyday and  can now go and take a normal poop without hating to go any more.  Try it what do you have to lose.  It's not a cure for a disease,  but to put back the good bacteria in your gut is a must any ways.
ReCently I have had nausea quite a bit. The gastro Dr put me on 2 meds. Within a week I started with the mushy poop wiping continuously.  Dr. Says its not the pills even though I am still nausiated. I have decided to stop the pills to see what happens. My but is raw... Going 4 or 5 times a day. Wiping for a least a half hour. I just started the yogurt 2 days ago. But This has been for about 2 weeks now.  Any other suggestions?   AH
I started eating the 2 yogurts and on the 4th day, I'm better. AH

I have the same exact problem.  I have gotten blood work done to test celiac, stool samples tested for bacteria AND had a colonoscopy by my GE...to no avail.  My diet and my routines have stayed the same.  I have been dealing with this for 5 months no, with no change.

It could be a number of things.  They should do a stool test to rule out bacteria, ova parasites and c diff. , a colonoscopy and CT scan to rule out things such as colitis chrons and cancer.   You could have celiac ( gluten intolerance)  or malabsorbtion .  Your first step would be to make an appt with your dr so some of these tests can rule out what it could be.  .

I have been having the same problem as well. I'm getting a battery of tests run by my gastronologist. Tests will be completed within the next few weeks. I'll keep you updated when I know something.
