nexium and menstrual cycle

Hi,

Im hoping to talk to a doctor about nexium. Im here on behalf of my girlfriend who recently started to take nexium for her stomach pains. She has been very hot at random times and has been nauseas at night. Her period was suppose to start yesterday but it has not yet and we are not sure as to why it has not. She had one episode of cramps this morning but it was very short and ended soon after. I was reading "Lilalee" 's post and what she said about her problem with nexium and her symptoms are very similar to my girlfriends. I am open for any suggestions. We were thinking of not taking nexium for the next couple of days and see if her period starts like Lilalee's did but we are not sure.

Hoping for an answer back soon!

I am surprised to find so many comments about the same problem.  I am having similar difficulties, but thought my irregular cycles were a sign of menopause on its way.  I didn't make the connection to the nexium even though I have been taking 80 mg for the last few months and 40 mg for several months before that.  I also have dizziness, lightheadedness and higher than usual blood pressure at times, but blamed it on baclofen or trazodone that I take for esophageal spasms and a cough.  Maybe it's all because of the nexium.  I haven't even bothered to mention it to the dr.
