For the past few weeks I've been experiencing pain that I've never felt before. I have IBS and acid reflux, but this is something new to me.
The pain seems to start in my stomach. My stomach will start to "grumble" but without the noise it normally makes.
You know the "grumble"...where your intestines are filled with air or whatever, and they start moving around...happens alot when hungry or indigestion. This is the best way I can describe it, sorry.
The pain sits just below the breastbone right in the center.( Apparently this is close to where your stomach is located.) It hurts to touch. The pain then spreads around to my mid back, more so to the right than the center.
Sometimes gourging myself with food helps, but not by much and not for long.
I have tried taking Gaviscon but to no avail. Nothing I eat , drink, or do seems to help.
I have also had frequent urination, but not sure if this is part of it.
I have lost weight the past week or so as well...and I'm a pretty small gal, so every ounce counts...can't afford to lose more weight.
I've also had the chills, profuse sweating, and dizziness (even when sitting).
I'm a little concerned, as my dad passed away 4 months ago after complaining to his doctor that he was having stomach/bowel problems. Turns out that his bowels "exploded" and scepticemia kicked in. Too bad that his doctor wouldn't even look at him. He was only 66.
I only mention this because stomach problems such as ulcers, gallbladders, hernias, etc seem to run in my family.
I asked my doctor for some more meds back in October, as I hadn't taken any nexium or anything else for years, and my stomach was acting up. The acid has totally ruined my teeth and I showed him this. He couldn't believe how bad it was...just little stubs left.
He gave me some Pariet, but after a few days I had to quit taking them as they always seem to bring on panic attacks. He says that's nonsense but the pharmacist tells me that it's quite possible indeed.
I have no idea of what to do now. Should I be concerened or should I write this new pain off as part of the IBS/acid reflux?
