black stool

i have been having a black bm ,for almost a month,losing the taste for food,i am scare i have a redundant colon,i was thinking of getting a colon cleaner to see if that helps,and pay more att,to what i eat

The medical name for black-coloured motions is "melena".  You may want to google this word in order to find out more.  But, as suggested by patient 915 above, you must seek medical advice because any intestinal bleeding is never normal.

You could add Align and Metamucil to your regimen and see if that clears things up for you.  Colon cleansers can be very harsh and not good for you.

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  A redundant colon is usually pretty benign and wouldn't cause black stool.  Black stool can be caused by bleeding in the upper part of the GI tract or by certain foods or medications.  I would recommend you see your doctor about this.
