Hi,
I suffer with terrible heartburn and have done for as long as i can remember i take lanzoprazole which helps a lot. Also when i have anything to eat i regurgitate it which can be quite annoying. Question is why does this happen? and how do i stop it from happening?

Okay, I would recommend avoiding acidic and rich foods along with caffeine and alcohol.

No i am not overweight in fact i have lost about 2 stone  over the last 10 months or so and i try to go on the treadmill for at least half hour most days. I have always suffered with my stomach in one way or another i just want it sorted. I have to go back to the hospital next month so hopefully they will have some good news for me but I'm not going to hold my breath.
Thanks.

Are you overweight?  I would recommend also avoiding acidic and rich foods and also caffeine and alcohol.

Digestive enzymes are probably a fine thing to try.  However, roypy's advice is completely inaccurate.  If you stomach was at a pH of 7.2, a glass of water would be more acidic than your stomach.

I have cut out a lot of fat in my diet and eat lots of fruit and veg i had too really as i have type 2 diabetes. I also had my gallbladder removed about 18 months ago and to tell you the truth iv not really been the same since on one occasion i ended up with Pancreatitis which wasn't very pleasant it does get you down after a while.

You do NOT want your stomach to be at a pH of 7.2.

sounds to me like your stomache acid is out of kilter. Have you tried digestive enzymes to be taken before you eat. Most diseases stem from stomach issues. If  your stomache acid is to low all the food in the world will not help you. You must work on getting your stomach acid by to the 7.2 range. Once there your body will be able to assimilate all of the proper nutrients from your food and get you back to good health.
