several symptoms no solution from drs.

HI! For the past 6 mos.-1 yr. my husband has been having stomach problems. It originally started with him vomiting 1-3 times a month w/diarrhea. His appetite hasnt changed nor has he lost any significant weight. We went to our family doctor and since then he has bloodwork drawn (everything came back fine) gallbladder sono, and a nuclear med. test done on his abdomen, everything came back fine on those as well. Our Dr. placed him on nexium, which I still dont really understand why, now he vomits less, however he seems to always feel nauseas, he seems to sweat alot more, and he is always tired. I have looked up several things on webmd, but still dont know how to help him. A little background info: he is 35, doesnt drink, does chew tobacco, relatively active, is on medicine for high blood pressure, and has been for atleast 7 yrs. I just feel like the Dr. is missing something, I was curious about ulcers, his mother has diverticulitis, is it hereditary? Any answers would be helpful. Thanks!

Was he sick at all before that?  (Virus, etc)  Look up autonomic dysfunction.  My son has this, it took 3 years for a correct diagnosis.  He has nausea, hot spells, headaches, dizziness.  The autonomic nervous system controls everything that is involuntary (digestion, blood pressure, body temp, etc).

So when they do tests, everything comes back fine, because the organs themselves are fine.  It is the autonomic nervous system sometimes that is out of whack.

Good luck.

Hi, I don't think diverticulitis is hereditary, and it normally shows up after 40.  There is a lot of pain associated with diverticulitis and you don't mention pain.  Nexium is used to treat GERD (acid reflux).  I would have him see a gastroenterologist regarding this.  I would also want someone to tell you why he developed high BP at such a young age, this in itself is unusual.
