spasms of the esophagus

I have recently been diagnosed with GERD and esophagitis. Lately, I have been experiencing a fluttering in my chest. In the past, I always regarded this as heart palpatations, since I am prone to them. Could some of this fluttering be spasms of my esophagus, since a times it feels like my throat is closing off? I dont want to go running to the dr. every time I feel something, yet I want to be sure to tell them anything that could be significant. Has anyone had anything similar to this? And should this be considered as significant?

Maybe, I had endo last January and it was not found at that time. I kept having the same old problems for months. I had to sleep on incline. Sometimes my morning coffee would come up hours later. In Aug it got real bad. It felt like things were getting hung up in my throat and slowly go down.
Went to GI and he ordered Barium swallow. My LES was staying open and I had a fairly large Hitial Hernia. They did a Nissen Wrap and all was great till my Galbladder stoped working and had to have that removed.  I just started having problems swallowing again and had endo and he said everything looked fine,,,, I was not happy with that and went to Primary and he ordered another Barium swallow and it shows the wrap is now too tight. Im not sure what will happen from here.
If you are having problems dont quit looking. I really believe the swallow shows alot more. Its not a bad test,,, just taste bad.

No, I have only had an endo. Wouldnt a hernia show up there? I also have some trouble with swallowing. they did stretch my esophagus at the same time, and it has helped somewhat. Sometimes when i am eating, i get the sensation that food is almost going down the wrong pipe, like I am inhaling my food. I dont eat that fast. The stretching seemed to make this happen less often but it still does happen. What would a barium swallow show that the endo wouldnt?
