vomiting blood

What is the chance of having a recurring GI bleed?

NSAIDS can cause this, they can eat a hole in your stomach if used often and for a prolonged amount of time.  I don't like when doctors "think" something is the cause, as there are other things that can cause this.  Has he tested you for other issues?  Normally, ulcers present with symptoms but not always.  Check out the link below to see what other things cause this.  I personally feel for you to have such a bad bleed, you would have had some symptoms.  Hope this helps, and take care.

I had no symptoms.  Got up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. Just as I sat down I had projectile vomitting of vast amount of blood.
Admitted to ICU, endoscoppy found duodenal ulcer and hiatal hernia.
Hemoglobin went down to 8.
2 weeks now and Hemoglobin up to 9.7.
Dr. thinks ulcer may have been caused by NSAIDS.
