Antibiotic and stomach issues

Hello

I wasn't sure what forum to ask this on. I was taking augmentin which was giving me severe diarrhea so i stopped after 7 days instead of 10. My stomach still hurts pretty bad. I may get one loose stool a day now because of taking probiotic yogurt but the rumbling and a bit of pain hasn't subsided. How long does it usually take for things to go back to normal?

Not sure what normal is.... My husband had similar problem and it lasted for about 8 weeks. Turned out the antibiotic had wiped out all of the bacteria and caused him to develop C DIF he was treated with IV's to get his system back to a somewhat normal he nearly died (really) because it went on for so long. Dr. later admitted that he missed it and should have done a simple blood test to check for C DIF  I took him to two different hospitals and found a gastro doc that immediately identified the problem.

Hope this is not your case but if you don't feel better soon ask your doctor about doing the blood test to check for C DIF.

Best wishes
