Identifying burn type

Dont realy know what topic this applies to so sorry in advance if it's in the wrong location. i burned my finger last saturday and didnt think much of it since it didnt seem like a serious burn. the burn was caused by a lighter and there was no blistering or anything just redness around the burned area. it has been a week and i woke up today and noticed the place where i had gotten burned had turned brown and noticed that it was dead skin. here is a picture of the actual burn. http://i43.tinypic.com/jv39yp.jpg i removed the dead skin and have cleaned it and added anti-bacterial cream. id like to know the severity of the burn as looking around the internet provided no real result as my symptoms didnt relate to anything mentioned. thanks in advance

As far as I know, burns are in three categories. I, 2 and 3. I being the least severe and 3 being the worst.
Do you have feeling on the spot that was burned? You should see your Dr even though it's been a week just to make sure everything is alright. Take care. Remar

It's really hard to say if i have feeling or not since its on the tip of my finger and the burn area is 2/3 the size of dime.

Run your finger nail over it gently to see if you have feeling. I still think it would be best to see your Dr about this. Is it doing alright, is there any evidence of infection? Remar
